I have this ugly carpeting on my front steps that I need to remove because it's ripping and becoming a safety issue. I took it off the front of the bottom step and it doesn't look great. I think the other steps are the same. Probably why the previous owner put the carpet on. Is there anything I can do to smooth this out so it looks nicer?
