As an immigrant who has ILR, been here since I was 12 so 16 years, and who is currently long term unemployed for a year bc I simply cannot find anything, I am terrified. I have grown up here, paid taxes, set up a life here and now with the way these elections are going, it’s all under a threat bc I’m having no luck finding a job. I am on benefits as I have no other choice, attend all my meetings, apply to an average of 3 jobs a day, and it’s simply not happening. Is anyone else feeling apprehensive? The job search is scary and stressful as is bc of the cost of living but this has added a whole new element. I don’t get enough to save, I can’t leave even if I wanted to.
