I've spent way too much time online with various possible SBR's or 'Pistols' (which would be converted to an SBR anyway), to decide on the shortest and quietest HD setup (tiny house, tinnitus bad enough as it is as well)... and being pocket limited, I need to look for something sub-$2k to have leftover $'s for the suppressor.
My requirements are a barrel shorter than 8" (as short as possible), and I've finally narrowed it down to the CMMG Dissent (converted to an SBR) with its 6.5" barrel in .300 BO, subs only.
I really wanted the Robinson XCR-L Mini in .300 BO with its 7.5" barrel, but the price is too high for my pockets, and the barrel just a bit too long. Not interested in the Rattler either.... and I've even considered a .45 ACP setup as they say they're almost as quiet as .300 BO subs, but I've just never been fond of PC PDW's.
The problem I have is I haven't found a LGS that has a Dissent that I can handle (fondle? lol), so I only have other people's opinions who either own them, shot them, handled them... etc. I'm all ears if you have any experience with the Dissent... thanks.
