Kyle is the star... and Amanda KNOWS that.
Listen. Kyle is bad. He is a narcissist. Whatever Amanda's problem is - divorcing him was a good choice. It sucks for her that she left him for someone worse who is less charismatic. My hot take is that Amanda put up with Kyle's bs for so long because it kept her on TV and made her sort of famous and relevant. Kyle's wardrobe change into that "hot & happy" hat and "have a day" shirt to announce that he feels like he is drowning to Ben in the closet after bemoaning a stain on his favorte pants was hilarious. Even when he is being the worst, he is still interesting TV.
Meanwhile... Amanda is not good tv. Kyle makes her interesting. We all know there is no way Amanda would have been asked back to be a cast memeber after being a friend of the first 2 seasons if she hadn't been dating Kyle. I think she knew that. I think she knew that she couldn't play dumb forever and everyone knew he was cheating. I think she tried to tie herself to another star... and chose the wrong one because she does not really see value in female friendships. I think Ciara's misguided love of West made Amanda think he had more star power and charisma than he actually has. Maybe she sees him as a bridge for her to get a fresh start on the rumored Ozarks spinoff or as a means of staying on "In The City" or who knows... but, whatever the reason, it was a bad choice. Now she can't glob onto the girls anymore either... and as soon as this scandal is over and West starts to try to date someone else who he thinks will keep him famous... she's gonna disappear after a weird tell all and failed book or podcast.
