Moving in June / July and both crabs are underground

Hello,

both of my dudes are currently burried. One has been burried since November / December as far as I can remember, and he wasn’t even that big, so I think he may be dead or just taking his sweet time to molt. The other went back down after a short brief period of returning to the surface for a few weeks, so I’m confident he’s probably still alive.

Either way I need to move out of my apartment by June because of unforeseen circumstances, and I have no idea what to do. I know you’re never supposed to dig them up but does anyone have ANY guides on how to safely dig them up during a molt and transfer them?

This would be much appreciated. Cheers you lot

Does anyone know why she’s doing this? She isn’t extending her dewlap but she’s expanding her throat when she breathes. She hasn’t eaten in a few days but I just rearranged her enclosure, got a new heat lamp, and she’s shedding, so I think she just has a low appetite from stress and shed. I’ve never seen her breathe like this before though.
