I currently have a three-region HA setup in Hetzner which is working great, however for both cost optimisation; and the fact that Hetzner are hitting cloud capacity limits - I'm switching to a dedicated bare-metal setup from Hetzner auction.
Because I actually want to be provider-agnostic, as well as high-availability, I'm looking to replace my other two Hetzner regions instead with dedicated setups in two different providers.
Provider #2 is pretty much sorted - I can use one of the OVH eco boxes, which are a little more expensive than Hetzner, but tolerable price-wise.
I'm now struggling to find a third provider; which ideally I wanted to be in the UK, but I'm seriously struggling to find anything at all which matches; that covers:
- The general price bracket of Hetzner / OVH (or at least not literally 2-3 times more expensive)
- Has similar security / certifications as Hetzner or OVH (so, not some random back office with a server rack in it)
- Company ownership is actually in the country of where the servers are living (i.e. I already have OVH in France, I don't want to consider OVH UK; nor companies which are actually owned by some US private equity firm, masquerading as a UK company)
- Has generally decent reviews, service and lack of constant horror stories
Pretty much everything I have found, fails on at least two of those points.
Anyone able to solidly recommend a third alternative? I could consider non-UK however it's mandatory it's in Europe, and ideally the owning company wouldn't be in France or Germany, as they're already covered from OVH and Hetzner.
