In Schisms, we see Data recite half a poem about the sunset and his “Ode to Spot.” He then asks Geordi for feedback and Geordi tells him that his poems were clever but implies that Data’s lack of emotion caused the audience disconnect. I can’t help but feel like he’s being an absolutely judgmental jerk about it. He clearly missed the point of the poem for Spot being a loving ode, despite its technicality since that’s how Data shows love…and then he was rude about it.

Riker gets a pass because he was having a rough go that episode but I’d like to see Geordi write a better poem than either of the Data poems we see.
