So I had to replace my battery and thank god it was still under warranty. But the truck still died. Went back and the guy said it’s more than likely a bad alternator. So I forked out $300 for a new one. Not hard to replace just a pain in the ass you’re limited on tools and help. Anyways, still watching the voltage gauge drop whenever I use the turn signal and even worse when I use the power windows. So I’m suspecting a parasitic draw. By the way, this is the second time I’ve had to replace the battery within about year and half give or take. Since I’m limited on tools and don’t have a meter I began removing fuses and started the truck every time I did. At first I thought it was the radio (with a back-up camera) since it was after market. Nope. Issue persisted. So then I removed the fuses for the turn signals one by one. Issue for the turn signals also persisted. Left them off while I tested the power windows because it gave the worst voltage drop. So now 3 fuses removed. No voltage drop. Now to test the backup lamp. Sure as shit, voltage drop. Now 4 fuses removed. Turn truck on. Steady as she goes. Only drop I have is when I turn the A/C on full blast but it’s minuscule.
Now, where do I go from here I’ve never trouble shot something like this. Could it be a ground wire? Advice would be greatly appreciated.
