Being a kkr fan even if I wish that they go on a winning streak like 2021, realistically it’s very unlikely to happen
1)Firstly Look at 2021 match dates , maximum gap was 5 days
And look at 2026 schedule now , minimum gap of 4 days is there between matches which breaks the momentum.
2)opening pair:- gill and Venky did good for us in 2021 , they used to set the base for the next batting to come
But currently we still have to decide on who will be the opening pair for us.
3)lack of consistent batters:-
Players like Tripathi and Venky Iyer were going very consistent in 2021, used to win us matches single handedly
But in 2026 although we are good knocks from individuals , but still they are unable to maintain it.
Let’s take example of Angkrish Raghuvanshi , then Finn Allen in first 3 matches , Rahane in first 4 matches. I just hope green and Rinku continue to play like what they are playing now.
4)captaincy:- although Morgan batted mediocre but his captaincy was top notch, the reason why Shreyas and Morgan didn’t get cricticised for their batting is because of their good captaincy , I can’t say the same for Rahane
5)lack of spin bashers and LHB in top 4:-
Players like Venky , Rana , Tripathi used to consistently play good against spin. But rn our team crumbles against spin , let’s take example of yesterdays match itself.
Also lack of LHB in top 4 makes easy way for captains to make their SLA or lefty pacers to bowl against our batters in pp , which works for the opposition everytime.
We don’t have any lefty batter till 5down.
Before the campaign started we thought our bowling is weak but it’s the batting which is costing us the most , bowling was just out of form (except Vaibhav he is just bad).
I feel like once the LHB , opening pair , spin batting issue gets fixed. We can go on to win most of the remaining matches
