Looking to purchase a Mazda 3. I am looking for a list of common replacement parts and service work that will require a Mazda specific code reader or ids subscription.

Like does a replacement touchscreen require “vin coding”. What about battery replacement or alternator? Spark plugs? Adas sensor pack?

After owning a newer ford, I am fully sick of these 700$ to 1500$ fees so that they can code the parts. And not being able to put used parts on my vehicle without having the vin# of the car they came from.

Hoping Mazda hasn’t embraced this dystopia.
