I have a mid range Desktop PC (R7 2700X, 2060S, 16Gb RSM) and even though I don't play games very often, that piece of hardware still turns my room into a sauna when running things such as Firefox and some light Virtual machines.
What would the ideal solution be? I was thinking of buying a laptop (since I need it anyway) and using that in the summer instead of the desktop PC when not gaming.
The temperature in my room is usually ~8-9 °C higher than in the rest of the house, peaking at 39+ degrees in summer, which makes it impossible to work/study.
I have tried:
- Opening the window (also at night when the temperature drops a bit)
- Downvolting
