Fun stamp set 🇬🇧

Fun stamp set 🇬🇧

Just inherited these 1991 stamps (they come in a booklet with extra labels, it will be difficult for me to separate them to use them so I might just… keep them and look at them 😂). So colourful! They are all depicting symbols of good luck 😊

Outgoing 🇬🇧

I don’t have too much post going out these days so here is my lonely outgoing letter!

These are both self adhesive stamps, which are better for slightly shiny/glossy envelopes as the lick and stick type tend to peel off (I discovered this when my mail arrived overseas with no stamps on!).

Does your country produce mainly self adhesive, or lick-able, or a mix of both types of stamps?

Need some help establishing whether these seedlings are the annoying classic sycamore or a Japanese maple. Can anyone help?

Bought a house with 3 lovely Japanese maples in the garden and these seedlings are popping up everywhere… I’d like to grow them if they are the “right” kind of maples, but I’m concerned about keeping them if they’re the classic sycamore. Thanks for any advice.

Not very many stamps here I’m afraid! A couple of domestic pieces of outgoing mail, one with a first class stamp (quicker, more expensive to send) and the other with second class (slower, and cheaper).

First class stamp, issued 1996

• Illustration “My day starts before I’m ready for it” by Mel Calman (born 1931, died 1994)

• The amusing cartoons appeared in national UK newspapers The Times and Evening Standard

Second class stamp, issued 2021

• Depicts 1970 Five Nations rugby union game between Wales and England

• Issue was to celebrate 150th anniversary of Rugby Football Union, other stamps featured games across the years
