Debut album release - is this normal?
tl;dr is this ratio of streams and saves/adds normal, especially for a band with a minimal audience?
We're a prog metal band, and we just released our debut album. No real audience to speak of, effectively no presence for the past 9 years or so.
During the past 10 months, we've been setting up this release - social media updates, media outreach (DIY), 2 single releases leading up to the album (1 lyric video & one cinematic music video). No live shows, we're still rehearsing.
Generally, we read up on how to do things properly and we did our best while keeping things original and mostly DIY. Things have been quite slow, which is to be expected.
Then comes the release.
Day 1: 177 streams, 191 saves,163 adds.
Day 2: 53 streams, 20 saves, 63 adds.
Day 3: 64 streams, 41 saves, 50 adds
Is this normal?? Day 1 saw more saves than streams, and almost the same number of adds as streams. Day 2 has more adds than streams as well. All 3 days have very comparable numbers of streams, saves, and adds. I know that there are repeat listeners, so there is no way that all those streams are unique - which means that there is a considerable number of saves & adds by people who have not listened to the actual songs yet. This could make sense on its own, but the lack of a prior audience makes it puzzling to me - there aren't many people who know who we are, so who would save our songs for later listening? I'm starting to fear that we could be getting botted somehow.
