So I recently found I had super high numbers entering a blood pressure test and physical for a work promotion I’m receiving.
170/140
Since then the promotion has been in jeopardy, however I’ve taken it seriously increasing my workout from nothing to 1-2.5 mile runs and weight lifting over two weeks. Intermittent fasting 16:8 every day sometimes doing a full 24/hr fast. Visiting the doctor a couple times and keeping a food and BP journal.
Diet:
Leafy greens, white chicken breast unseasoned, ceasar salad, tart cherry juice, a banana, one small chocolate bar. (My only source of sugar daily)
No soda, no alcohol, no greasy high sodium foods, no breads.
Supplements:
Curcumin
Ashwaganda
Natto kinase
L argenine
L citrulline
Beet roots
Vitamin K2
Vitamin D3
A statin
2 blood pressure medications
I’m bouncing around the numbers needed after two weeks and losing 15 pounds. I’ve been as low as 120/80 but as high as my previous numbers. I think I’m just stressed during the day with a case of white coat hypertension.
I need 140/90 to pass
The plan!!
I’m going in tomorrow with the game plan of taking the day off. Sleeping in. Breaking my fast with leafy greens, water, and supplements. I plan to go later in the day when my blood pressure naturally wanes, take a nap or meditate the hour prior to the appointment. Lean back with the cuff slightly loose and relax as mimics as possible.
If you read this far, thank you! I’m looking for advice on whether this plan sounds good. If there is anything I can do to ensure my numbers are low. This promotion has taken 7 years and will determine whether I stay blue collar or go into a white collar position, to say there is some pressure regarding this is an understatement.. I’ll have opportunities to possibly go again after this but I want to get this done,
Any insight, ideas, or advice are welcome.
Thank you for your time.
