I follow an artist on Instagram who recently posted a flash sheet I really like, however, she's on the other side of the country. I understand copying another artists work isnt cool, so when I reached out to an artist locally I said "This is a flash sheet I like from an artist on the other side of the county. Im not looking for a direct copy, but I was wondering if you would be willing to do something similar to/inspired by this, especially the woman on the right side of the sheet." This was a week ago and she hasn't responded.

Is this too close to copying another artists work? Wondering if I'm taking the wrong approach before I try to approach a different artist.
