I haven't had an aquarium since I was a kid and I have had an interest in doing a walstad bowl lately. My peace lily that needs repotting is sort of egging me on here.
However, the environment I live is extremely dusty compared to other places in the world. It is very dry and there are a lot of dust storms. Surfaces indoor also need to be wiped down quite regularly to keep the dust at bay. However, the surface of the water cannot be wiped off with a rag. I am worried that all the ambient dust will cause issues in a walstad system. For example, if I were to leave my glass of water uncovered overnight, it would taste dusty by the morning. So, will the very dusty environment cause too many problems for having a Walstad, and what can I do to make it easier on myself?
I don't think it would be a huge deal for just plants, but I dream of having a few shrimp.
