I had joined a BTech MTech CSE (Cybersecurity) 5 year program thinking I'd leave after 4 years and take BTech, give GATE and do MTech from IITs. But now my college has official notice that no student can leave before 5 years. I am locked in for 5 years in this college.

Now tell me what use do I have for GATE? I know I won't do MTech. I want to do PhD. But I think GATE isn't required for PhD application. What about Scholarships for PhD or any IIT that you know that give priority to GATE qualified candidates.

You can't leave after 4 years with BTech. You'll have to suffer for 5 years and leave with a MTech
