I think I have an opportunity under section 5 StAG? Or a different approach?
Grandfather: born 1892 in Germany, married 1929, certificate of arrival in US 1930, naturalization oath 1936 (have ordered all paperwork)
Grandmother: born 1901 in Germany, married 1929, certificate of arrival in US 1930, naturalization oath 1939 (have ordered all paperwork)
Mother: born 1935 in US, (German citizen jus sanguinis, American citizen jus soli). married 1966 (paperwork in hand)
Me: born 10 months later 1966 in US, married 1999 (paperwork in hand)
My concern...My mother did not become a citizen when my grandfather did, she was already a US citizen. But some websites say that my mother got derivative US citizenship and lost German citizenship when Grandfather became a citizen. (I hope not.) Mother is listed on Grandfathers Naturalization Papers, but clearly typed and stamped in red - BORN AND RESIDE AT CITY NAME, STATE NAME
And, do I submit a separate application but with the same paperwork at the same time for my adult kid (born 2005 in US)?
Thank you!!
