This sub does not pass the vibe check.

I’ve been using ladder for a long time and watching this sub for a minute, and felt I’d be remiss if I didn’t say something.

I’m well-aware this will be massively down-voted because this crowd doesn’t actually want to have a legitimate discussion, they just want to complain, but I’m going to say it for what I assume are the quiet majority in this sub.

Many of you do not pass the vibe check.

When Ladder announced Hilary Duff, SO many of you had nothing but negative things to say, even though it had zero affect for you. I saw complaining about rising prices (didn’t happen), celebrity trainers qualifications (she’s not a trainer), lack of focus on updates (they’ve released a few since then). I’m not a massive Hilary duff fan, but I at least understand why they did it.

Many of you don’t seem to understand how business works. You need more users to grow. And if you’re a proponent of strength training in general, you should be championing the gospel of strength training being spread even further with the reach of a prominent celebrity. Even Kelly Matthews said the same thing — Hilary has more potential reach for the people that need to hear this message than she ever will.

So many of you complain about the team chat, and yes, it can be a clusterf***, but you don’t seem to realize that the same negative energy you bring to Reddit is the same energy that’s poisoning your team chat experience.

I’m just flabbergasted that the same people who hated on Hilary and argued for more tech updates (like Garmin integration) are now either crickets or somehow not happy with it.

I saw that the video that plays before the workout even got removed in the update - something that everyone wanted and was a massively upvoted thread last week - and I’ve heard no one mention It.

In all seriousness, you need to check your mindset. Being negative all the time will do more health damage than strength training will ever help your fitness.

Does Ladder need to announce new coaches? Yes. Are there things that bug us all about the app? Of course. But they continue to deliver on nearly everything and I would assume are working on many of the additional requests.

If you have feedback, send it to their team. Get in the beta. Or just leave. That’s fine too.

But fix your energy.
