I have so many things going on. I’m at my wits end. I’m trying to work a full-time job in public relations and deal with all of this as a a 70-year-old female who looks like she’s 50 but feels like she’s 90. I’ve always had acid reflux- originally it was diagnosed as LPR I had 2 vocal cord surgeries for dysplasia which is gone now. That’s all been resolved, although I’m constantly hoarse from the surgery three years ago there is scar tissue -but my surgeon says that’s normal. I’ve was on omeprazole long-term until it gave me muscle spasms. I stopped for a while then the reflux came back really bad so I went to the doctor five months ago. They put me back on 20 mg of omeprazole, and they decided to do an endoscopy which discovered a medium size hiatal hernia, inactive gastritis and esophagitis. They added famotidine 20 mg at night and most of the reflux is gone, however, when I turn in the bed at night on my left side is pain I guess that’s from the hiatal hernia but on the right side it’s very tender. My sternum is extremely tender . I have had a CT scan of my abdomen and pelvis and an ultrasound of my abdomen, and every organ is normal and all my blood work is normal. My gastroenterologist told me after a colonoscopy a few weeks ago just to check as well-that it’s all fibromyalgia and costochondritis -I do have fibromyalgia. I’ve had it since I’ve been a teenager so I went to my orthopedist because I also have some other issues and he said it was possibly costochondritis and gave me a dose pak which did nothing -my abdomen has tender spots. My diaphragm is tender. My upper back is tender every once in a while when I move, I get pain in the upper back both sides. I have sharp e pain all over the place. I’m trying to believe it’s costochondritis. None of these pains is triggered by eating any fatty meals. It’s nonstop no matter what I eat -I’m going back to the gastroenterologist on Monday to check. I really don’t want my gallbladder out. I don’t want all the side effects from it and so far not one scan has showed a gallstone or sludge or wall thickening. Nobody thinks it’s that but I’m worried because one of the pains is very tender on the right side onto the right breast -but my son-in-law is a rheumatologist in another state and he suggests that I see a rheumatologist locally to check on the fibromyalgia/costochondritis -has anyone gone through any of this? I feel like I sound like I’m crazy but I am beside myself. I’ve lost 10 pounds in four months, which is great because now I’m really at the weight, I should be and I love how I look, but I certainly don’t love how I feel. That’s not the way to lose weight. I’m eating more healthy /but i’ve eaten healthy before and never got a weight loss like this before There are times when I’m constipated and times where I’m bloated and I just really need to get out of this mess if anybody has anything like this I’m curious to know what your experience was. Thanks in advance for any advice given. I feel like every Dr has a different opinion and this is going on so long and I feel like I can’t make a plan to do anything in my life because I’m afraid if I travel something will go wrong and I’ll wind up in a hospital far away from home.
