I’ve always raced cyclocross with a SRAM Force eTap AXS D1 groupset (orange bike).
Recently, I got a second CX bike with Shimano Ultegra Di2 R8150 (purple bike).
The frames, setup, and components are identical on both bikes. The only real difference is the groupset.
Despite the identical fit, my hand position on the hoods differs noticeably between the two. On the SRAM bike, my hands naturally settle into a position that feels stable, and provides good front-end feedback.
On the Shimano-equipped bike, my hands fall into a different position that feels less controlled.
When I try to hold the Shimano hoods in the same way as on the SRAM bike, it feels unnatural and cramped.
Has anyone experienced similar differences between Shimano and SRAM hoods?
Which specific adjustments can be effective in aligning the feel between the two setups?
Appreciate any input.
