I was behind a school bus, and it stopped and started flashing its yellow lights. So, I waited but after about 20-30 seconds nothing was happening. The door wasn’t opening to let off any kids, there were no kids waiting to get on, no flashing red lights, and the stop sign arm wasn’t extended either.

So, I started getting confused and thought maybe the bus was stopped for a different reason. I decided to go into the other lane and slowly drive past. Even as I drove past the lights never flashed red, the stop sign never extended, and still nobody was getting off.

I was already 10-15 feet ahead of the bus before it started honking at me and finally used its red lights and stop sign. So, did I mess up or the bus driver? or both?
