So I’m not American, but I’m kind of in love with the idea of road-tripping across America probably because of reading too many Road trip romance novels. It is one of my favorite subgenres.

Recently, I’ve been reimagining the Forever My Girl movie scenario, but with a twist. I want the hero to be a rich billionaire who got tired of boardroom meetings and is now traveling across America in a luxurious RV with an onboard AI.

He’s passing through a small town (something like Saint Augustine), it’s raining, and he notices a car on the side of the road. Inside is the female lead with her sister, who is supposed to be getting married in an hour. The hero helps them by giving them a ride to the church… and then ends up staying for the wedding.

I won’t go too deep into my imaginary plot, but the central conflict I’m craving is this:

stagnation vs roots

The guy is scared of stopping—he feels like staying in one place is a cage and is always chasing the road. The girl, on the other hand, loves the idea of having roots, a place where she knows everyone and everything.

I know this is super specific, but if you know anything similar in vibe, please let me know
