CAT 88.x EWS Engineer Female 8/8/9 profile

Hi guys,

I scored 88.x in CAT with QA around 80, DILR > 90, and VA > 85.

I have an 8/8/9 profile and current workex of around 2 years. I come from an EWS background.

Even though because of my job and some personal issues, I couldn't prepare well, I received a decent amount of calls because of my profile and work experience.

My PI went well almost everywhere, and I converted-

IIM Nagpur

IIM Kashipur BA

IIM CAP (J, S, Bg)

Waitlisted-

IIM Shillong (borderline)

IIM Udaipur (non-convertible)

Rejected in PI-

IIT D

Awaiting results-

IIT K

IIFT

IIM V

IIM Sbp

I am still working at my company and will have 32 months of work experience by December 2026.

I have not paid the seat reservation fee for any of these IIMs as I am unsure of whether I should do it or re-attempt the CAT exam.

I know the exam is unpredictable but I missed JAP PI call by a slight margin of 0.x, and if I had given the PI, my CS would have been in the merit list as per the selection criteria of all of the 4 colleges even with an average PI.

Although I am grateful for converting some of the IIMs, my borderline waitlist in IIM S has made me realize that if I had tried and worked harder, I could have received calls from BLACKISM and JAP.

Furthermore, I had given XAT and scored an overall 89 in it with 98 in DM but the sectional for VALR was below cut-off for XLRI. Didn't get the PI call.

I'm very confused at this point and don't know if re-attempting these exams would be a sensible or a foolish move because of their uncertainty and varying circumstances on the D-Day.

Those who dropped a year or two and have similar profiles, please help me with your suggestions.

Thank you.
