Counter-weighting (after market) Question…
I have the OZ.1i 2° press (LAB pistol press grip).
I mentioned to the shop fitter when we were setting up the specs for my custom order that I had installed a 75g CounterCore weight in my (now old) putter SS grip but that I didn’t like the idea of LAB’s counterbalance option (which is a longer grip with the weight extending above the hands) and he said “oh I’m glad you said that. We’ll make sure the Heavier head weight option is selected for ya…”
Honestly, I was so explicit with what I said and he’d never steered me wrong in all the money I’ve spent at that shop, and I felt I (obviously) wasn’t thinking clearly… so I just went with it.
Now it’s driving me insane (I have this uncertain and inconsistent take-back wobble) and I don’t really want to send it back in as I’m about to start hitting full in-season stride mode…
So I tested taping some old counter core weights (about 80g total) to my grip, and it felt instantly smoother.
I saw there’s a new SS Zenergy Pistol Press grip, but I don’t believe it has the CounterCore or tech slots sadly…
