How does everyone feel about FanFiction being posted here?
I was recently notified that I might be upsetting people by posting it, and I certainly don’t want to do that.
Should I not post it here at all? Once a week? Once a month?
I haven’t been getting the strongest reception with my work, and I’m wondering if this is a problem with my writing or that the general public doesn’t like writing as a “fan art”?
Seems like whenever someone draws something, no matter the skill level, it’s always upvoted to moon, but writing is often dismissed, or worse yet “beat down”
Has this been anyone else’s experience?
Maybe I’m just feeling sorry for myself that I’m not a successful writer😂
“Ancestors hear me!”
Flames burst to life.
Light flickers on paintings, flowers, and skulls. The dim light of the room casting shadows upon the wall with her every movement. Kneeling before the altar.
“Once more our people are hunted” The altar etched in strange markings.
“Centuries later, they seek to finish they started!” Aztec marking adorn her hands. A strange wind blows.
“The light of our people, near extinguished again”
Lightning cracks and the wind howls as a hand from beyond the grave bursts from the earth.
“Ancestors, hear my plea! Protect our people!” and with a final flourish she extinguishes the candle.
Forms rise from earthen graves and howl into the night. The moon guides them onward. The wind and thunder shaking the land..
