BI-RADS 4 any opinions on test results?
Hello! First post I’m actually ever making on Reddit! I have an 18 year old, 4 and 2 1/2 year olds. I’m 35F, and my paternal grandmother passed recently from breast cancer and she was a carrier of BRCA 2.
My OB found a lump at my check up, and I had my first mammogram today, followed by an ultrasound. I’m going to copy and paste the results, but I have a biopsy scheduled for Wednesday. I’m just nervous because of the size of the mass, and I also did not think to tell anyone at my appointment that for the last 4-5 months I’ve had constant neck pain, stiffness, and decreased ROM. I’ve also lost 20lbs (without trying). I’m 5’3 and have gone from 132lbs to 111. Idk if either of these things relate in any way, I’m an overthinker so I’m psyching myself out. Any insight would be greatly appreciated, I just like to be mentally prepared and this is all fresh for me!
Results (US)
The left breast palpable lump correlates to the 11:00 position, 3 cm from the nipple where there is a hypoechoic solid nodule with lobulated borders measuring 2.5 x 1 x 2.4 cm for which biopsy is needed.

Narrative
EXAM: MAMMO DIAG LEFT W TOMO Order date: 5/7/2026 9:56 HISTORY: Recent clinical examination revealing a palpable lump on the left. The patient also feels a left-sided palpable lump. TECHNIQUE: CC, MLO, 3-D, CAD bilateral: COMPARISONS: None FINDINGS: The breasts are heterogeneously dense, which may obscure small masses. The triangle overlies the upper left breast at 11-12 o'clock. Deep to the triangle is a focal asymmetry with partially obscured margins and ultrasound is needed to further evaluate. No suspicious calcifications, unexplained architectural distortions or dominant masses are noted otherwise.
