Hello all—25f and just got surgery date for my hysterectomy after about 18 months being postpartum and incredibly miserable. I have Crohn’s disease and have had a couple of surgeries so far in that area. My first and last pregnancy my uterus made a home attached to my colon and I had crazy complications.

Anything special with this surgery with things considered? Bonus if you have past abdominal surgeries/scar tissue. That is my biggest fear is what all of my scar tissue in the way is gonna be a mess.

Okay, long story short(ish), I 25f and 18 months postpartum have been having the worst Crohn’s symptoms but after continued screenings, all signs pointed to my uterine issues. During my pregnancy with my first and only, I had significant pain. Felt like my insides were ripping apart. I told my doctor and ended up switching docs just in time before delivery as I was concerned I wasn’t being heard. With HX of crohns, they did a c-section. They found my uterus had attached to my colon by means of scar tissue from my other Crohn’s surgeries. Had to have uterine repair as my uterine artery severed itself off during the csection. Bloodbath yuck, terrible.

My OBGYN sent me to the cancer center in the next largest city to take over my care, feeling I would need a hysterectomy completed by a doctor who would have more experience in complex cases. At 6 months postpartum the specialist didnt feel i met criteria and recommended pelvic floor therapy which i didnt do. Just not interested unfortunately…i was in so much pain. Today i had another follow up and jumped the second he touched my cervix. Im really close to a uterine prolapse. Surgery scheduled.

Has anyone else experienced a hysterectomy with crohns? How was it?

Crohns has made motherhood so freaking challenging….venting.

I 25f had my first and only (oh yeah i already had to get spayed ((lol)) thanks to crohns) at 24. My daughter is brilliant, hitting her milestones and overall following directions, not a challenging child by any stretch, knock on wood, we are almost 2!

Every morning, as soon as I wake I have this incredible bowel urgency, to the point I cannot physically hold it and have recently struggled with accidents. I feel bad as I have to put the dog in the yard first thing in the morning or she revenge poos on the carpet (maybe she has the tummy hurties also).

I want to be present, happy, healthy. But literally having accidents first thing in the morning really kills me. Its a matter of 30-45 seconds and my body just gives up the hold and explodes :( . I feel so embarrassed, im on medication, doing what i need to for that and still not happy entirely.

Planning a trip to TJs (live about 2 hours away from nearest) and want to get all sorts of things to try. Does anyone have any recommendations of items theyve found that do not upset your crohns?

Ugh. I hate the conversation. I 25f have crohns and work in healthcare. I have been very unfortunate with flares and also having C-Diff in the recent past. It has been about 2 months but suddenly again my farts have been VERY foul smelling. I cant just not pass gas, but i also feel bad. My fiance has been making remarks “ugh bro you f***ing stink” which obviously hurts. I know he is not trying to be mean (or maybe he is) but it just hurts. I feel so gross already, and i will be cut off from my crohns medication soon d/t insurance. I just dont know what to say/do.
