Contractor hell
Our house flooded in dec. Mitigation was done by another company. I chose the current company to do repairs and so they did the demo of all the floor/cabinets/pulled off door frames/ removed bathroom toilets and tubs. We gave him the scope given to us by insurance and told him this is what we are covering. The first approval was for a little over 18k and this included demo AND repairs, he asked for that via invoice first week of Jan after demo and we sent it to him (edited to add - we paid him the 18k the first week of Jan). Its now May we have been displaced for going on 6 months. He had every excuse under the sun for delays. Well he finally put in floors and fixed the flood cut three weeks ago but then said he is waiting until insurance pays for the supplement. The supplement was just for cutting the drywall flood cut and putting it back. Its about 2k in work. He didn't even do the entire approved scope that he requested (replacing base plates, removing mirrors off wall, etc)He refuses to even drop off cabinets on-site until he gets paid for supplement work. I just want to go home. What can we do?
