Ally did nothing again, didn't she? 🤦‍♂️ (Follow-up from my post yesterday)

(I'm going to shout a bit here because I'm writing this by the seat of my pants and I've lost my patience.)

I know I should just be patient and wait until there's less people to juggle screentime with, and that if her purpose really was just to serve as fodder, she would've been eliminated in Episode 3 but this is FUCKING ridiculous. Her chances of winning the season are about as real as Chris Brown and 6ix9ine's chances of winning the Nobel Peace Prize, so why should I get my hopes up and root for her when the minute she starts doing anything, it's just going to serve as an excuse for everyone to target her? Not even fucking Sadie from TDI was sidelined this hard (even though Ally at least has lines - like that counts for anything because she still has less words spoken than Alec, who was out FOUR EPISODES AGO! And she's at least participating in the challenges unlike TDAS Sam, big whoop).

ONC, you clearly listen to your fans! If you didn't you wouldn't have Benji start participating. Are you TRYING to validate the people who say she shouldn't have been in this season at all? Are you trying to make her the least popular character on this sub and insinuate that you wish you stuck with Hunter or Tess?

I don't know, maybe I'd be more patient and less assuming of the worst if ONC didn't straight-up admit they don't like her and demonized her in DCAS on purpose. I can handle people not liking her, but this really is taking its toll on me and still making me feel like I have bad taste. Thanks to the people in my last post who reassured me that it's okay to still adore her, but I just really wanted to vent again.

Well now I know how Ally herself felt doomscrolling through all her own hate comments.

Is it worth being a fan of her anymore? (An Ally appreciation post in a dark time for Ally fans + venting about my frustrations with how neglected she is in Season 5)

Hi. This is my first post on Reddit in a good long while, and my first overall post on this sub. I've made quite a few comments on here, but the one thing I found myself talking about most of the time is one certain character.

Allyson Amber.

She still has her charm but it's clear ONC just doesn't care about her since they're not bothering to give her content outside of her friendship with Benji and their totem, which will inevitably end with her getting eliminated so he can use his half. Why bring someone as divisive as her into this season with no ideas in mind other than being a pawn in someone else's development and just overall give her the Zaid treatment. Like have we learnt NOTHING from the Beta?

For the record, I was aware when I started getting invested in the series last year of her divisive reputation. I mean, everyone on this show has detractors. But lately with everyone pegging her as the next to go, combined with her getting no time to shine compared to everyone else (she was a major highlight in her group's song in the most recent episode, but from what I've seen that's widely considered the worst of the bunch so does that really count) and the writers, particularly Connor's VA in DCAS, actively admitting to hating her, as well as her still being seen as one of the weaker characters of Season 2's remake despite having a massive glow-up there, I'm a bit self-conscious considering her as one of my favorites (if not my personal favorite) and I fear it might get to the point where I'll be judged or made fun of for it, like being called a simp who's horny for her or being told that I have bad taste because there's infinitely better characters to hyperfixate on even though I like plenty of characters on this show. That hasn't happened to me, but I'm worried it will if I continue to stand by this ship while it's sinking.

I don't know why she gravitates towards me more than others. She kinda just... does. She has a likable endearing demeanor, she's cute as a button, she's really fun to make up dynamics for and I enjoy the ones she has (yes even Jake in DCAS even if I think their feud lasted way too long). I first started getting invested in her when a fellow Redditor on the r/TotalDrama sub I've followed, u/GeometryDash_Gamer (who hasn't been active on Reddit for a while now due to having a busy personal life) named her his favorite character here, although even he had criticisms with how she was handled in DCAS (particularly Episode 14), so I started studying this show and I felt sympathy for how she was treated in All-Stars.

But recently I began to feel like good vibes alone just aren't enough to cement someone as your long-term favorite, and that what little she has going for her outside of being a chill presence and the unintentional memes she garnered is more through the person she's interacting with's merit or benefits their development and not her's (like she even has any to begin with outside of her speech in DCAS episode 20).

Of course there are people I've seen on here who are fans of her (shout-outs to u/Ok_Shirt_1574 u/TheMeepDragon and u/Expensive_Pop as examples ~~oh yeah and u/NathanTheWWEFan as well as u/Sudden-Pumpkin7510 and his many alternate accounts~~ 😂😂😂) so it's not like I'm alone in liking her; far from it. I know deep down the answer to my problem is to just stand by my opinion regardless of her general perception and flaws and to be patient and wait for her to do something in the next episodes, but the question I'm asking is, is it worth it when she doesn't have a lot going for her compared to other characters who I don't talk about nearly as much?

I apologise for coming off as melodramatic and rambling too much, but I just want to feel like I don't have bad taste for having a "nothingburger" as my favorite and encourage some appreciation for her in this time of underutilization and everyone pegging her as the next eliminated. If you hate Ally, more power to you. I can handle negative opinions, but with her, it feels like there's too little to actually like about her. I love her but I don't like how she's been treated by the narrative, especially if it's going in the direction everyone's predicting it will.
