Can budgies change color even long after their first molt? Pip here is around 1,5 years old and he's getting these new black feathers on his tail. Never seen this before in any of my birds so im just checking in if anybody knows!

I was wondering if there is like a good rule of thumb to know how long is too long. Dont want to stress him out for no reason nor do i want to hurt him.

They all have natural perches and for the 3 other budgies i have it works well, but it seems that Banjo's nails are a bit long. Granted i did adopt him from somebody who didnt take good care of him so maybe that has some influence on it too.
