3.65 GPA after 2 years at Cornell, feeling really anxious about MD chances. Still have orgo, physics, and biochem ahead. Anyone been here?
Hey everyone, just finished my sophomore year and I'm starting to spiral a little about med school. Sitting at a 3.65 cumulative after 61 credits and I know the median matriculant GPA is around 3.82; that gap is really stressing me out. The thing is, my hardest classes are still ahead of me. I still need to get through orgo, physics, and biochem, and I honestly don't know how I'll do in those. Every time I look at the MSAR numbers I feel like I'm already behind and it's only sophomore year.
For context I'm at Cornell (A&S), gonna declare a Psych major and planning to take a gap year to either do research or take more post grad classes.
I know 3.65 isn't a death sentence but I can't help fixating on it. Has anyone pulled their GPA up significantly junior/senior year? And for those who got in with sub-3.8 GPAs what else made your application work? Really could use some honest perspective right now.
