Everyone that took Step 3 on the new format is still waiting for their score report. It has been over 7 weeks and there is still no concrete answer. Every time I call, they give me a different answer: “you should expect it next week", "You need to wait 8 weeks" "There are no delays, its normal".
But how do we even know they're going to send us our score next week? They explicitly say on their website “When selecting your test date and inquiring about results, you should allow at least eight weeks to receive notification that your score report is available.” They don't even guarantee results within 8 weeks, they say “at least 8 weeks” to avoid creating any kind of real deadline.
But the reality is this is not fair. This is a standardized, automated exam. There is no reason for scores to take this long, especially when they're charging $1,000 usd per exam and showing zero transparency or communication. No other exam in any other field takes >7 weeks to send results.
There are jobs on the line. There are visas on the line. Step 3 is required for many critical processes, and people’s careers and legal status are being put at risk because of this delay and the complete lack of accountability. We are all just being told to wait indefinitely, hoping it will come at the 8 week mark, but truth is it will likely be more than that. They can take months for all they care, because they have no consequences.
At this point, we all need to start putting pressure. We need to email, call, and demand actual answers because otherwise nothing is going to change. Should we cc the CEO of FSMB/NBME in our emails, escalate this? idk but if everyone just waits quietly, they can keep dragging this out for as long as they want with no consequences.
