Hi All
I recently purchased a second hand C1111x-8P router having done some googling to see if I could find a smaller box than an ISR 4300 or 4400 for a very small CME setup for my home.
I know Cisco documentation says "Unified CME is supported on the ISR 1100 family from IOS XE 17.5.1a onwards", and I’ve seen examples of C1100/C1111-family routers showing voice register global mode cme, but I can’t find anything solid for the C1111X-8P specifically.
I've been trying to get this working, but nothing I've done is exposing the CME elements.
So my questions are:
- Has anyone personally got CME or SIP CME working on a C1111X-8P?
- If yes, what exact image were you running?
- Is there a separate package/licence/feature entitlement needed to expose the CME parser?
- Is CME support limited to certain ISR 1100 SKUs, e.g. C1111-4P / C112x, but not the C1111X-8P?
- Is there a known-good IOS XE version for this exact model? So far, I've tried:
c1100-universalk9_ias.16.09.06.SPA.bin
c1100-universalk9.17.09.05a.SPA.bin
c1100-universalk9.17.12.07b.SPA.bin
c1100-universalk9.17.15.05.SPA.bin
I’m not trying to do anything huge here — just a small home lab CME setup with Cisco 8845/8865 phones. I do have an ISR4331 that can probably do the job, but I was hoping the C1111X-8P would be a smaller, quieter, lower-power option.
Any real-world confirmation would be hugely appreciated. I’m especially interested in actual command output or working image versions rather than just the generic platform matrix.
Thanks.
