HRT and BC

I’m trying to figure out the best route for HRT and making sure I don’t get pregnant. 39 years old, 40 this year. We have 3 kids, and I absolutely don’t want any more.

I currently have the paragard IUD. I’m about due for an exchange, and I’m considering having it removed because my periods have been painful, heavy, and long the entire time I’ve had it.

My GYN put me on the estradiol patch and 200mg micronized progesterone for the first week or two weeks of the month (don’t remember). I was on this for 3 months and felt absolutely amazing.

With me wanting the paragard removed, she stopped the progesterone and put me on Slynd since it’ll help my periods and offer birth control protection, as well as the endometrial protected needed with the estrogen replacement. I’ve been off the progesterone for a month, and am a couple days into Slynd. But I feel like I can tell already - I’m emotional and the fatigue is back.

I loved how I felt with the estradiol and progesterone, but I want to remove the paragard. Not only because of how heavy and painful my periods are, but certain positions hurt during sex and that wasn’t the case prior to paragard. I felt so good that I’m willing to leave the paragard, although I don’t want to.

Has anyone been in the same boat? What did you do as far as HRT and birth control.

Inflatable paddling - best spots?

Beginner here. I’ve been kayaking twice and used a paddle board once. Have recently been gifted an inflatable kayak and bought 2 inflatable paddle boards for the family. Wondering where some good (safe) spots are to take it. I’m near Orange River, is that a decent spot for the kayak? I’m also thinking Manatee Park - hopefully okay for the paddle boards as well? I know Lover’s Key will be okay.

I’ve recently been informed to stay out of mangrove tunnels with any inflatable. Anything else to know?
