Looking for my first handgun both for home defense I’m not new to firearms I’m just a first time owner.

I’m 5’8” 190-200lbs I plan to carry and I live in Florida so my clothes will be mainly athletic pants and shorts most of the year with a t shirt. I would like it to be optics ready that’s really the only requirement I have but it’s not a deal breaker. I don’t recall shooting a gun with a smaller grip but grip sizes similar to the Glock 19 feels good for me since I have meaty blue collar hands but I’m open to hearing about other’s experiences with those.
