Toilet bowl emptied itself, likely that bad smell accompanying it is sewer smell
Anyone had a similar issue in the past and can give their opinion? Noticed earlier today that the toilet had emptied on its own and not refilled, the bathroom smells pretty bad, not sure how long it has been like this since I have not been in the house that much this week and I try not to use this bathroom much. A plumber likely cannot come to assess this tonight as it is Friday night, is it safe to let this sit overnight until I can get it fixed tomorrow? Obviously it’s been sitting for at least a few hours- a day already and nothings happened but it would be my luck that it overflows tonight (I graduate highschool tomorrow 😭) I considered hitting the shutoff valve but it is really old and I’ve heard steps should be taken beforehand to try to resolve the issue before turning an old shutoff valve as it may be unable to turned back or not work at all. Anyone got some ideas? (Btw I’m aware it could be clogged sewage line, faulty p-tap-, seal, etc)
