As a CV main, even I have to admit how useless and sad fighter consumables are.
Spam carriers do not care about losing a squadron. And even if the fighters realize they have a job to do (sometimes they dont even chase squadrons), they are most of the time late and the carrier is able to drop a second set of torps regardless.

And thats not counting fighters being shot down by enemy AA, making them useless.
God forbid you get uptiered and face a CV thats one or two tiers above you because in that case, you might as well deploy seagulls with SMG's strapped to them.
The only fighters I consider a threat are the ones deployed by enemy CV's. They have a large patrol distance and respond quickly with a lot more force and damage. Those ones actually make me reconsider if an attack is worth it.

I've seen tons of times where a friendly deploys their fighters while under attack by a CV and they do literally nothing.

In short, as a CV main, fighter consumables do not deter me at all because they do nothing.

I've been playing the Edinburgh and this is probably the best example of bots clearly targeting someone even when it makes no sense.
I was with an Ipiranga on an objective and we were facing like 5 bots. I activated my smoke screen so that we could hide. In the smoke, I was hidden but the Ipiranga wasnt.

Heres where the bullshit comes in. The bots kept CLEARLY aiming at me. I was still undetected inside the smoke and the bots didnt shoot me, but they kept aiming straight at me. The AI knows that I'm in the smoke but they cannot fire because the game tells them they shouldnt be able to see me. Yet they do. They didnt even consider engaging the Ipiranga who was shooting them. As soon as the smoke cleared, I was lit up like a firework.

I noticed this with other players too where the entire AI team decides "fuck that guy" and doesnt let up no matter what happens.
