1999 Chevy Express 4.3L here. The current state of my solid(not flashing) security light has not changed since the day the problem began. I went to start the van one morning and the light was solid and van wouldn't start. I have disconnected the battery 1000 times and I have also removed the PCM to connect to a bench harness to try to delete vats with PCM Hammer software on my laptop with no luck. I couldn't get the bench harness to talk to the box at all. I can get the PCM to talk to the laptop when the PCM is in the vehicle but it won't let me progress far enough to re-flash it. All of these things that I have tried end with the same result as day one. Nothing has changed. I tried the 10min relearn thing 1000 times. I have ignition key sensor coming in the mail today but I'm guessing that it will not make a difference because the problem is further downstream(VTD) It seems like no matter what I do with the column/key sensor wires make no difference because it seems that my VTD(vehicle theft deterrent aka passlock2) module is not listening because it is bricked or damaged. The software doesn't seem to support the old Black box pcm/ecu that is in my 1999 van. I am now changing my approach to simpler methods like physically bypassing the module itself or somehow physically removing vats from the PCM somehow. I have been completely obsessed and determined. It is beginning to feel like physiological torture. Please help
