This is my second year with my fig tree and I'm trying to give it the best life so it can give me the best figs and I'd appreciate any advice. On Fig boss he recommended pruning early spring, and maybe I missed my window since it's no longer dormat and I should wait until winter. But since I bought one with more of a shrub shape with so many stems I'm a little lost at how to go about it. Should I go ham and cut a bunch off at the bottom, just do a few, say screw it it is what it is and let it go?

Bonus question, last year I gave it Fish fertilizer, this year I bought osmocote plus and was going to add some bone meal for calcium, should that be enough for fertilizer and micro nutrients?

Thanks so much for helping!
