Areas to choose / minimal water logging
Been a resident of Bangalore for 13+ years and shifting to Lucknow in a month. I am new to Lucknow in general.
I am used to extreme flooding and water logging in Bangalore even with marginal rains.
I am looking for localities to rent an apartment in Lucknow, where the water logging & flooding could be minimal.
I am trying to choose between Sushant Golf City, Vrindhavan Yojana & Gomti Nagar Extension.
My thinking so far:
Golf City & Vrindhavan Yojana are slightly higher in terms of elevation, while Gomti Nagar Extension is right at the flood basin of the river, purely from topography. The elevation tapers/goes down from Vrindhavan Yojana, Golf City till the river flood basin.
Gomti Nagar Extension is urbanized aggressively & highly dense in terms of residential growth, making it highly vulnerable (theoretically) to street level flooding.
SGC & Vrindhavan can flood too, but their elevation and wiser infrastructure and sparing density allows the water drain towards the Gomti river flood plains.
I feel Gomti Nagar extension could be a waterlogging choke point & SGC/vrindhavan could be better preferred.
I am looking for actual Lucknow residents to share any insights from flood scenarios in the past couple of years & pls suggest if SGC/Vrindhavan Yojana are better options.
P.S. I have never lived in Lucknow, just my estimate in terms of purely topography, pls share anecdotal experiences. Thanks
