Visanne and Diet

Took again Visanne (been 11 days now) after left it for years and I realize almost all of my trousers don't fit anymore 😫. My diet didn't change before Visanne, so, I thought I have to change my diet now. Anyone had experiences with Visanne and ballooning and change the diet to maintain weight? TIA!

Dilemma - to hysterectomy or not to hysterectomy

When I see people's experiences, I often think my condition is not as worse as others. But I have the intention that if I have the money, I'll go for hysterectomy to just let this pain go away.

The question is, can the doctor say no for hysterectomy? (Over any reasons e.g you're not married and have kids, it can have a complications, the condition is not that worse to have hysterectomy, etc). If they do, will you go and find someone that can do it?

I understand hysterectomy a major request, not like we're asking to do facial in a dermatologist.. Am I being too naive to be 'easily' make such decision? Should I be more tough because I can still walk and use painkillers whereas there are others who can't even wake up due to severe pain? Should I wait until it gets worse that there's no other choice? But wanting to have hysterectomy is a choice, no? (Honestly I never see myself being pregnant and become a mother)

I would love to hear your opinion..I might miss something here during this adeno journey... Thank you very much and sending warm hugs 🫂 🤗 ❤️

Background: 40f, not married no children, diagnosed adeno 2018, worsen in 2025, done laparotomy, apparently still exist, worsen again in the last 1.5 months, now back to taking Visanne and painkillers every 10 hrs.

Hello everyone... Has anyone had experiences taking painkillers for a long period duration? If yes, what did/do you have, how long, and was there any side effects?

Thank you very much 😊🥰

Background: adeno since 2018, worsen by 2025 and actively consuming painkillers per 8hrs, did laparotomy, pain showed up again recently, back to taking Visanne but still taking painkillers every 12 hrs. Working abroad. Any surgeries is not an option right now due to waiting line, healthcare system, and budget. So I gotta live with Visanne and painkillers for now -- but also afraid of the side effect of taking it for too long..but what can I do 😫

Hello. 39f here. I need to give some context first before the point of my question...

Was diagnosed with adeno 2018, moved abroad 2023, and mid 2025 the pain started to get worse, mostly flare up on lower abdomen, back pain, stabbing on rectum, that ruin my life mostly my work (had to came late or went home early or even couldn't come at all). Went to several doctors and ended up opt for surgery (Nov 2025) that is said to be in waiting list for 8-12 months. The only way to know when is our turn is to wait for their call 2 weeks before schedule. I did call the doctor on Dec 2025 and he said to wait for a month because they are going to prepare list of patients for 2026 and I can be on January 2026. At that time if I have to put some amount of money to be put on earlier list, I am ok. Apparently it's a common untold practice here, especially in public hospitals because doctors' wage is not high.

At that time, I couldn't handle anymore pain so I tried to find another doctor that wanted to do the surgery, at least to clean some suspect pain and to be pain-free for a period of time. Found one, done laparotomy in a clinic, and he said he has removed visible adeno and didn't see any endo. Pathology result also confirmed adenomyosis. I was okay and completely pain-free like nothing happened.. On Feb 2026 did go back to my country for a brief moment and checked with obgyn there and she said the adeno is still there and hysterectomy (uterus removal) is the definitive solution (I personally is ok with that because I have no plan for children and getting my life back is more important). She said that even if I'm ok now, just wait for 3 months and the pain will return. Well, it did. End of March started pain for a week, then completely disappear, until week 4 of April until now, early May (already back to the country I work in right now). So I am back to painkillers every 8 hours (ibuprofen, buscopan, sometimes voltaren suppository if worse) and I began to take again Visanne Dienogest 2mg, that I used to drink back in my early days of adenomyosis.

I have options to wait and see the result of Visanne (been 3 days now). But I still wanted to do another surgery/ hysterectomy, and the doctor in public hospital here haven't called. I don't have money right now to do it in private hospital both in my home country and in here (around 8000 euro) and my insurance here decided to terminate mine (long story).

I need your opinion...

  1. Let's say the public hospital call. I must also inform them that I have taken a surgery and the adeno + pain still exist. Do you think they will be like.. "oh you couldn't wait for us and took another doctor and apparently it didn't work and now you want us to clean it up" kind of thing? I don't know if this question make sense I'm typing while tryna deal with pain.. 😔 Somehow afraid they ended up decline..

  2. Any experience with Visanne, and then stop, and then taking it again? Aside from its side effect, does it help you? Back then in 2018/2019 my pain was not like this..

  3. I don't know how can the doctor agree for hysterectomy, but, can anyone request for it? I know it's not like we request a facial in a beauty saloon... Does it have to be in a very dying situation (like very severe case, unable to move, extreme bleeding, etc)? I am thinking about it because I don't wanna drink painkillers everyday and miss out work. Especially I moved abroad because of work. I wonder, why female doctor is more 'your body your decision' so she was more opt for hysterectomy because it's the logical definitive way out of adeno. Whereas male doctors were like take it as the last last last resort. Especially when they see I am not that dying. The last doctor that I went yesterday suggesting back to Visanne, then if it didn't work, first surgery to clean endometriosis and if the pain persist, second surgery for hysterectomy. Why not to remove the main source from the start 😮‍💨.

Sorry if it's too long. Sending hugs and best wishes to everyone here. We can go through this together 🤗🤗.
