Hi guys! I just started trying to get published in short stories, poetry, CNF etc. It's been about half a year. There's some poems/stories I made that I'm super proud of and they have all those poetic devices, techniques etc. I read a lot and practice writing and have SO many drafts. I entered a bunch of contests, only got longlisted for one and have gotten like 50 rejections, no success.

I wanted to ask if this is normal, and how to continue. Is it just like this, or do I need to get published to get more street cred to get published again and again? Is it my writing? Was gonna try writing a novella and everything too but I'm a bit nervous since developing fear of failure and rejection. I don't know any other writers so I wanted to reach out to ask people from here.

Thanks so much guys. Please be kind - I'm trying my best!

Hi everyone! I'm starting undergrad at glasgow in sept. I'm really excited and got a room in kelvinhaugh gate. I started to plan what I'll bring, room stuff etc and I saw that some of the rules for rooms can be quite strict (no stuff on walls, fairy lights etc.)

How did you guys personalis your rooms and did you follow these rules? I thought they might not be strictly enforced. There's so many shelves and lots of open space in my room preview pics, and I'd feel more at-home once I've added some personalised decor to it. I'm sure there's some really nice things you could do to it.
