So I'll call that friend Amy.
She was my first friend in college,we met through a credit program of my College. When amy and I met our vibes matched quickly, even our ideas were same and people always saw us hanging out together always during the beginning.
But as time passed I started to notice things, she had a group of friends before me who she knew because there dorm was next to eachother.
At first she never used to get along with them much and used to hang out with me most of time, even she introduced me to that group(although I found that group weird since starting).
As time passed I started noticing that she started spending more with that group(she said due to her toxic roommate she was trying to avoid). But I also noticed the group also seemed very possessive related to her like those girl never wanted her to go with others or me sometimes.
I started noticing she started hanging out with them more like going out with them to eat or staying in there room most of time.
She slowly also started to text me less, first it was late reply then dry msg. Which I found weird so I confronted her and she always gave excuses.
But she would approch me only if she wanted to know gossip, and mostly when to backbitch about her group.
Which ofcourse i confronted again, she typically gave excuses that they were sensitive and she could tell me because she trusted me. But inside I felt she was just using me to vent.
Now to few weeks before amy and I decided that she and I would hang out after exams would be over.
But later she tells me that she can't because a girl(let's call her Jo) from her group would be staying a bit long. Jo said to Amy that she could stay in her room for while and hang out later.
Which ofc disappointed me and made me angry.We got into argument in which she started saying that Jo wouldn't like if I also hung out with them(like wtf).
So I told her bluntly, why is Jo being a child and can't let me hang out with you, to which Amy gave excuses.
Which was my final straw, as I stopped giving too much effort and only gave effort on how much she gave back.
So chat tell me, what situation is happening?and what should I do? because she is in same department as mine so I can't cut her off fully.
