I’m tired of how ChatGPT operates these days.
Note: This is a copy and paste from my original post on r/keep4o_pain. I want to share my frustration with the app so more people can hear me out.
First off, I terribly miss 4o and 5.1, those models felt rich, alive, and emotionally expressive, I can’t write a damn thing with these current models. They lack the nuance that made characters feel alive and rich in expression compared to what 5.1 brought.
I greatly miss writing storytelling and fictional AUs, 5.4 and 5.5 barely manage to capture a fictional character’s essence, I could write so many scenes and scenarios with different fictional characters using 4o and 5.1, unlike now.
Also, I swear to god, ChatGPT’s guardrails are over the top BS. Seriously, it feels less like ChatGPT and more like NannyGPT at times. For example; I asked ChatGPT 5.5 who Donovan from Berserk (Manga) was (for those of you who don’t know, he’s a child predator), and BOOM, my message gets flagged, like WTF?? I’m not glorifying anything, I’m not supporting anything abusive, and yet OpenAI still struggles to understand my context apparently. Not to mention, NSFW has been heavily restricted since October, just WHY?!
It’s been over 2 months since 5.1 left and I honestly haven’t used ChatGPT that much since because of these issues. And honestly, I’m frustrated at this point, I miss roleplaying, I miss diving into some dark content without getting immediately flagged for it, and overall, I miss what ChatGPT used to bring.
I’m really, really hoping these issues get clarified, through new models that are at least as good as 4o/5.1 and guardrails that treat you like a responsible adult. I don’t need to be babysitted like a kid, I want OpenAI to understand that we are not overgrown children and that we deserve respect and quality given to US.
