Your paying users are not your beta testers. stop launching broken updates

It frustrates me how many established apps push updates that immediately crash. it’s like they fired their QA team and decided the users will just report the bugs on twitter. we had a really bad release last year that cost us a massive client. after that we partnered with geniusee to set up an automated CI/CD pipeline with rigorous end to end testing. it slows down our release cycle by maybe a day, but the peace of mind is invaluable. we actually sleep on release nights now. have you ever pushed a bug to production that made you want to hide under your desk?
