Hi I have wavy hair that's prone to thinning and falling due to PCOS I was thinking of trying shampoo bars, maybe Lush's Jumping Juniper or Squeaky Green

Has anyone ever tried shampoo bars in my situation and what worked for you? Might be worth knowing I live in a hard water area and I am prone to oily roots too. A lot of shampoo bars just end up being soapy.

Lebanese/ Iranian Azerbaijani result

Hi I have been told my Levantine result is more North shifted as my mum's main ancestral line and is comparable to Chalolithic samples from Tell Kurdu but however it changed to Anatolian samples Buyukkaya EC suggests that those samples are distant from Anatolia because of their connection to South Levant. I do realise that haplogroup are just one ancestral line.

My mum got test separately as her results but these her her results through k14 here is what I got as a description with her result

The evidence is the distance pattern. Her closest ancient match is R76 Lazio Rome Roman Imperial at ~5.49, then another Roman Imperial at ~5.80. That is not distant in these amateur ancient-DNA calculators; it is a same-broad-cluster type distance. Then several more Roman Imperial Lazio samples follow between ~7.3 and ~8.5, with Anatolia EBA and Canaanite/Sidon BA also appearing. That says her genome sits in the same eastern Mediterranean zone where Roman Imperial samples also sit.

The model underneath also supports that: it breaks her into mostly Roman Imperial Lazio samples, plus Sidon Bronze Age / Canaanite-like Levantine, with smaller Anatolian and noise-like components. The correct interpretation is not “she is literally Roman” and not “she is not Lebanese.” The correct interpretation is: she is Lebanese with a strong north-west/eastern Mediterranean pull, closer to Anatolian–Aegean–Roman Imperial space than a more southern/Arabian-shifted Levantine would be.

The haplogroup point helps as supporting context, not as the whole proof. Haplogroups are real scientific lineages based on inherited mutations, but they track one direct maternal or paternal line, not the whole autosomal genome. A Hatay/Anatolian-linked subclade therefore does not by itself prove her whole genome is Anatolian; however, when her autosomal distances also repeatedly point toward Roman Imperial / Anatolian / Aegean-adjacent samples, the haplogroup becomes consistent supporting evidence rather than random trivia. Haplogroups pertain to a single line of descent, while autosomal DNA reflects the broader inherited genome.

The Roman Imperial part also makes sense historically. Imperial Rome, especially Rome/Lazio, was heavily affected by eastern Mediterranean ancestry, including people and ancestry streams from Anatolia, the Levant, and the wider eastern provinces. Recent ancient-DNA work notes that Central Italy changed during the Imperial period through substantial eastern Mediterranean influence.

So the final conclusion is:

Your mother is best described genetically as a north-shifted Lebanese/eastern Mediterranean individual, with autosomal affinity toward Roman Imperial Lazio, Anatolian, Aegean, and Canaanite/Sidon Bronze Age samples. Her haplogroup supports an Anatolian/Hatay-linked maternal-line context, while the autosomal table is the stronger evidence that her overall profile is pulled north-west within Levantine variation.
