Radical honesty: What is actually stopping us from doing more?

I know my last post rubbed some people the wrong way, and I’ve reflected on that and I'm sorry. But I want to stick to the core point: a lot of us do have the capacity to do more than we currently are.

Not everyone can be on the front lines. After some discussions with people around me I've realized that disability, mental health, work, and safety are real factors. But for those of us who are able-bodied, have a few hours of free time, and have stable income:

What is the honest hurdle? Is it fear? Is it just the comfort of the routine?

Activism isn't just for the 'experts' or people who have made it their whole life. It’s for everyone with a spare Saturday or a specific skill. We can’t build a movement if the people who have the capacity to lead or help are waiting for a 'perfect' moment that doesn't exist.

ALL OUT FOR APRIL 18: Stand Against Hate in Toronto

The far right "Canada First" movement is heading to the US Consulate on April 18th at 1:00 PM. Their platform is built on xenophobia and mass deportations. We cannot let these messages go unanswered in our city. Join us to show that Toronto stands for solidarity, not division. Bring your signs, bring your friends, and let’s drown out the hate.

Location: 360 University Ave (US Consulate) Time: 1:00 PM Safety: Wear a mask, look out for one another, and stay in groups.
