fuck my life. okay so context: i got arrested when I was 15 years old over a dumb school shooting joke i made. i never went to court, had to pay any fines, nothing. I was up front with them about this. I did say i got finger printed and all that jazz but nothing else ever came of it and when they did the background check it didnt pop up, they just saw i got finger printed. swore into MEPS, picked out a job with a cushy bonus, all that jazz. Ship date is on monday. shortly after i swore in (3 weeks ago now) I got a call from the office saying I need to come down and do one more waiver for that arrest, EZ PZ they said. The only reason it even popped up is bc i have a job with clearance so it came on the FBI background check. He said we would know in 2 days. I called, texted, many many times asking if the waiver got approved. He basically gave me no information except for "if we havent heard anything back that means were good to go. youll still ship on monday." I asked him to double check and he basically just said dont worry about it since we havent heard anything we are good. he also ghosted me for about 10 days.
fast forward to Wednesday, FIVE DAYS BEFORE MY SHIP DATE (3 days business days). I get a call saying he fucked up basically. 2 days after my waiver got submitted THEY DID EMAIL HIM saying that it didnt get denied but theyd need some court docs, he just didnt see it. after me pestering him to just DOUBLE CHECK for 2.5 FUCKING WEEKS. We are calling courts, juvenille centers, and having a hard time getting info. Ive been on and off calls with government buildings, recruiters, different chiefs trying to fast track this. But fuck dude. This couldve been started 2.5 weeks ago if he had just checked like I asked. He said he got chewed out bad for it and he even apologized to me for not double checking like i asked. He even told me "yeah i was kind of just ignoring your texts and even telling petty officer ___ that she needs to stop being such a worry bug but turns out you did have something to worry about lol." he said there is a chance i wont be able to ship out monday bc of all this. im so frustrated.
