Is Becoming a Tax or Estate Planning Attorney Worth it?

Hi,

I’m on the process of transition from tech into law. I’d like to start law school this upcoming fall part-time. I’ve always enjoyed the idea of working in tax and estate planning, but recently have been reading that estate planning will become a very saturated area given financial planners are offering it as a service and it doesn’t seem the ABA will do anything about it. The tax industry, however appealing as well it seems that it is very hard to break into without experience (currently I’m a software engineer).

TL;DR: Is it worth to become either an estate planning attorney or tax attorney? By worth it, I mean that you don’t kill yourself with overwork and make decent amount of money (over $100k/year after a couple years of experience).

Thanks in advance for your responses!
